A faster, better way in.
The pain of the traditional route
“Can I say it was disgusting?”
When Aimee trained, that meant four to six years of sweeping floors, running errands and being talked down to. There was rarely any hurry to move anyone on.
If you’ve had a salon experience that left you questioning whether to carry on, it’s hard to imagine enjoying the work again. This course was built to give you that chance.
Why this course exists
Eighteen months of structured learning, with time to practise, ask questions and grow into the work. Most of that time is spent doing hair on real clients, not sweeping floors or waiting years for a turn. Fall behind on an assessment and you get one-to-one support to sit it again. You deserve to finish feeling proud of what you can do, with a future in hairdressing you can look forward to.
Tuesday to Saturday, 9:30am to 4pm.
Halloween, Christmas, Easter and summer breaks built in.

A flagship L’Oréal partnership.
L’Oréal has chosen the salon as its flagship in Kilkenny. Students get access to L’Oréal’s own courses alongside the academy’s teaching.
“Nobody is beneath anybody. Everybody is on the same level.”
Everyone helps out. You’re here to learn, and how you’re treated matters as much as what you’re taught. It comes from what the founders went through themselves and the kind of place they wanted to build.
You will come out with a completely different outlook on hairdressing than someone who came up the traditional way, four times faster, without years of being talked down to along the way, and a future that feels bright instead of dull.
Bringing the creativity back.
Aimee remembers looking at a day packed with appointments and wondering where the room for creativity had gone.
“Everyone thought I was fine. Inside, I was having a major heart attack. How was I going to be creative when my whole day was pure pandemonium?”
She still remembers wrapping a piece of hair around the end of a brush and watching it come out in a wave, something she hadn’t been taught and found striking. That is what this course protects: time to experiment with a colour, work out a technique and remember what drew you to hairdressing. There is room to enjoy getting good at it.

25 years in the craft.Twenty-five years behind the chair, and the academy she wishes she’d had.
Built to walk you into work.
Good stylists are hard to find, and salons around Kilkenny already say so. Every student leaves this course with eighteen months of real, hands-on client experience, not years of sweeping floors. We are working toward formal accreditation, so the training counts on paper the way it already counts in the chair. The academy works with you on where you land next, whether that is here, with a salon we know, or wherever you want to take it.
